Greetings from Mobile Generated News® MoGN!
Would you believe that Samsung claims that
they have sold 800,000 Smartwatches?
Yes, this is the one that I thought was
mediocre at best and only works with a few of their Galaxy devices. You may also remember that this particular “Smartwatch”
works like an extension phone and doesn’t receive email, Tweets or Facebook
notifications.
Even though I pride myself as a 1st
adopter of the latest gadget, this particular product doesn’t make any sense to
me.
Yet, 800,000 sold? What am I missing here? The reviews have been lousy, and the Samsung
Galaxy Gear Smartwatch is the bestselling Smartwatch in the whole world! And they have sold all of these in just the
last two-months. According to a report
from Reuters
“The South Korean firm said Gear sales
have been better than its own expectations and it would expand sales promotions
for the wearable device for the crucial year-end holiday sales.”
If you haven’t noticed Samsung has spent a
fortune on television commercials, full page ads in Newspapers and created a Social
Media buzz. So, this isn’t a case of
luck and timing, or is it?
You certainly don’t need
a Smartwatch to upload your breaking news stories, features and commentaries to
Mobile Generated News®! Download the Mobile Generated News® (MoGN) App and send in your
own video commentary about Smartwatches, or any subject we talk about in the
Mobile Generated News® Blog!
And no, I DO NOT WANT ONE FOR CHRISTMAS! Well, maybe the Cookoo Watch…
