In a surprise announcement this afternoon, Disney revealed that COO
Thomas Staggs would be stepping down from his current position in May.
Staggs, 55, was widely expected to lead Disney after CEO Bob Iger’s
retirement in 2018.
Staggs became the Walt Disney DIS -1.95% Company’s second-in-command in 2015; his abrupt departure throws the entertainment giant’s succession plans into disarray.
