AMC's 'The Night Manager': Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston star in the year's best thriller (review)
Kristi Turnquist
This may be the "peak TV" era, with hundreds of shows in dozens of genres, but thanks to "The Night Manager," we now know what we've really been needing: a sexy, sleek, international espionage thriller with the brains of a John le Carre novel and the seductive allure of a James Bond movie.

The six-part miniseries premieres on AMC April 19, but it's already aired in the U.K., to stellar ratings and reviews. And it's easy to see why. "The Night Manager" combines luxurious production with razor-sharp writing, and it's brought to life by a brilliant cast, headed by Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie.
