 LAPD Warrant Lets Cops Open Apple iPhone With Owner's Fingerprints

 As CEO Tim Cook and the FBI engaged in a very public spat over an encrypted iPhone, cops down the road quietly acquired a warrant to apply a user’s fingerprints to open an Apple device. That executed warrant, uncovered by FORBES and dated February 25, 2016, is the first known case in which a warrant has compelled a person to unlock their smartphone with their biometric information.
