'Fear The Walking Dead' Season 2, Episode 7 Review: Shiva
FORBES

ERIK KAIN
Well things went very bad very quickly in Sunday night’s Fear the Walking Dead midseason finale.
Our group, previously determined to stick together, is now split three ways—four ways, really, if you count Daniel Salazar’s sudden descent into madness and ensuing fiery death.
Travis is off trying to help his son Chris, the other character who has just sort of suddenly gone crazy over the course of two or three episodes and, one presumes, about as many days.
And Nick, who was always crazy but who inexplicably bought everything Celia was selling after about two or three conversations, is apparently going to go it alone since he’s mad that Celia’s compound burned down. Oddly, when he asks his mother who did it, she doesn’t even respond. She could have said “I have no idea!” or “Maybe it was Daniel!” or “Shit happens!” but instead she just tells him to get in the truck again and again. He doesn’t, of course. He’s having too much fun walking around covered in blood.
So the running theme of Season 2 appears to be “madness.” We’re all mad here.
This is a bit of a cop-out, to be honest. It’s one thing to have one character go a bit loopy. Understandable even, given this is the zombie apocalypse. But to have the group split up because three characters hop off the deep end? No thanks. Fear the Walking Dead has simply jumped the shark here.
