Powerball Jackpot Soars to $348 Million
Calif.
Lottery officials say the jackpot has rolled 17 times before tonight.
Before January's massive $1.5 billion win, it had rolled 19.
It's happening again. The Powerball jackpot is taking flight, soaring up to $348 million.
California
Lottery officials say the jackpot has rolled 17 times before tonight.
Should someone strike big and match all five numbers and the red
"powerball," the cash payout would be $226.1 million.
The
Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:59 p.m.
local time. You can buy tickets up until 7 p.m. at most locations. Check for results at the California Lottery’s Powerball site to see if you’ve won.
The
California Lottery is one of 44 lotteries nationwide, plus the District
of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, that participate
in the Powerball drawing. Tickets can be purchased at any lottery vendor
of more than 22,000 California Lottery retail locations.
Earlier
this year Powerball fever reached new heights, when a billion dollar
jackpot was on the line. On Jan. 13, three people finally won a
$1,586,400,000 jackpot after it rolled 19 times, California Lottery
officials say.
