Greetings from Mobile Generated News® MoGN!
The recent heat waves across California have been tough on citizens and firefighters alike. Today, over 10,000 residents in Carlsbad (just North of San Diego) were forced to evacuate their homes and stay away from the fire that had already burned over 100 acres.
I'm sure all of the newsrooms of of the San Diego news outlets were quite hectic. News producers had to act quickly to get the latest developments on the air live. One of the first pictures of the blaze posted by CBS 8 was the one pictured above. It looks as if Alesia S. snapped the picture on her smartphone as she was driving by. She almost effortlessly contributed to the news cycle. Citizen Journalists like Alesia S. are all around us.
Well-taken pictures and videos have the ability to tell a story without any narration. At MoGN, we hope that you take the types of pictures and videos that are so fascinating and moving that they can tell a unique story. If you see news happening around you, take a snapshot or a short clip and upload it to the MoGN App. Be careful, because that news could be behind you.
At Mobile Generated News®, we want news consumers to be able to interact with local media for free. We believe that contributing to the news cycle is essential to our democracy. Most often, viewers do not get to control what they see on the news. Now, the MoGN App enables news enthusiasts to have a say in the content they see on their televisions, web sites and newspapers. We are trying to enhance the human experience when it comes to news. Download the Mobile Generated News App and become a Citizen Journalist! If you are out and about and see news, weather or sports happening, send in your Breaking News. If you have a story or opinion that’s worth sharing, record it and send it in as well!
