With all of the tragic news this week, and the weekend upon us, it’s time for an entertainment diversion!
A company called Aether has just released a wireless speaker that will supply you with unlimited access to a huge catalog of songs for a monthly fee.
What makes this speaker different from Pandora, Spotify or other streaming services?
This wireless speaker called “Cone” finds the songs that you prefer instead of you having to tell it what your tastes are. It takes your streaming history and algorithmically decides what you want to hear. The speaker’s current source of information is the service called Rdio which you will need to subscribe to in addition to buying the portable speaker for about $399.
Cone is battery operated which makes it portable and the included software can determine how far away you are from your wireless router and will play different music based on what room it is in.
Pretty cool, huh? However, have we become so lazy that we can’t even decide on our own music playlists?
What do think? Would you buy one of these?
