Greetings from Mobile Generated News® MoGN!
Yes, I know "Shark Week" is coming!
Is this a cheap ploy to get you to read the blog?
Perhaps.
This story is not about what you may think. Google owns trans-Pacific cables that they have had to wrap in layer upon layer of armor to protect these cables from sharks chewing on them. These cables transmit data from around the world so they are very important to Google's network.
It is not known why sharks like the taste of the cables, however, they may be confusing them as prey because of what they sense from the electrical field that surrounds them.
The problem dates back to 1985 when shark teeth marks were found in cables being installed by the telephone company at that time.
Just thought you would like to know.
At Mobile Generated News®, we want news consumers to contribute their opinions or news stories and be able to interact with local media for free.
