Greetings from Mobile Generated News® MoGN!

I enjoy teaching and have consistently done so throughout my career in Broadcast News.  Why? Because mentoring young people and helping them assimilate into the workplace is very important to any news organization and democracy.  News departments should represent all age groups, genders, ethnicity and political beliefs to consistently and fairly represent and report on the communities they serve.  I have also had the pleasure of hiring a number of people from my classes and watched them flourish in their careers.  One student of mine actually became News Director at KTLA (a position that I held twice in my career) after I moved on to another TV station!

As Journalists ― and this is probably true in any profession ― it’s simply the right thing to do.  Before you know it, Generation Next will become responsible adults as they transition from High School or College and get their first jobs, joining the ranks of the workforce.  At Mobile Generated News® we are encouraging students at Colleges and Universities to download the Mobile Generated News® App and participate.
