Is Free WiFi Important to you When Planning your Summer Vacation?

With summer just around the corner, people are making their vacation plans and one of the factors many are taking into account is whether hotels offer free WiFi.

Many people I know do not want to pay for WiFi connectivity along with all of the extra fees many hotels are already charging which inflate the nightly room rate.

A new study conducted by the web site HotelWiFiTest surveyed over 1,300 hotels and checked out their WiFi speeds and if they charged an extra fee for the service.

What they found might surprise you.

Independent hotels were more likely to offer the service Free than more pricey chain hotels such as Hilton, Marriott and Sheraton.  The study said that Quality Inn offered free WiFi at 75% of their hotels across the country.  And, the survey said the speed of the WiFi connection was faster than most of the higher priced hotel properties. 

Fast and Free WiFi is not only important for business travelers.  Families are using WiFi more and more to connect their Smartphones and Tablets to entertain their kids.
