Twitter and Facebook join Google in backing Apple's decision to refuse to help the feds get into encrypted devices 
  • Twitter's chief executive Jack Dorsey tweeted that his site stands with Apple Inc and thanked CEO Tim Cook for his leadership
  • Facebook in a statement that it will 'fight aggressively' against requirements for companies to weaken the security of their systems
  • Apple has refused to help investigators break into an iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino mass shooters 
  • The government is asking Apple to disable other security measures that prevent attempts to guess the phone's passcode
  • Cook argues that once such a tool is available, 'the technique could be used over and over again, on any number of devices' 
Facebook and Twitter are siding with Apple in its fight against a court order requiring the company to help investigators break into an iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino mass shooters.


Harper Lee dead at age of 89: 'To Kill a Mockingbird' author passes away

 Author Nelle Harper Lee, who won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1961 for her book, "To Kill a Mockingbird," passed away in her sleep Friday morning at the age of 89, her family has confirmed.
